Pen & Board ("we", "us") operates penandboard.com, an online lesson space with video calls, a whiteboard, and file annotation. Contact: hello@penandboard.com.
We do not sell or rent personal data. We do not show ads. We do not use lesson content to train AI models or for any purpose other than delivering the service to you.
Pen & Board accounts are for adults (teachers and tutors). Students join lessons through a link and are asked only for a display name. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children beyond that name; where a student is a minor, the teacher is responsible for having permission from a parent or guardian for the student to participate in online lessons.
We share data only with the providers needed to run the service: hosting, real-time call infrastructure, and payment processing, each bound by their own privacy obligations, and only the data needed for their function.
Lesson files and notes are kept while your account is active. You can delete individual files at any time, and closing your account deletes your content within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep specific records (e.g., invoices).
All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS; calls via DTLS-SRTP). Stored files are encrypted at rest. Rooms use unguessable codes and can be locked by the teacher.
You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time by emailing hello@penandboard.com. Depending on where you live (e.g., EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA), you may have additional statutory rights, which we honor.
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date above. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders.
